Is Artificial Intelligence a Threat to Human Intelligence?
Artificial intelligence AI (could also be referred to as machine intelligence MI) is intelligence exhibited by machines, rather than animals or humans which are natural intelligence, NI. In Computer Technology, the field of AI research is described as a study of “intelligent agents,” any device that studies its environment and takes measures that take full advantage of its prospect for success at some goal.
With the intelligence and creativity of tech super champs, Artificial Intelligence has came forward within the past few years. It has no doubts assisted us humans, and there are several examples of it such as Google Now, video games, Smart cars, Siri, etc. that we use in our daily life. Considering the rapid development of AI and reliance of humans on it, some people are of the opinion that the microprocessors running on algorithms will surpass human intelligence in the near future. Nevertheless, some people still have hope for human intelligence. As they are of the opinion that HI is far better and unique than the robots, which are the creation of HI.
The Trans-humanist vision of the future includes the replacement of HI with the enhanced and accurate results of AI. Meanwhile, they have forgotten the point that humans created AI and we will continue making new innovations each day. We can not only make new computer devices, a microchip for future, but we create and develop new ideas each day.
How can AI be dangerous?
Several researchers concur that a super-intelligent AI is not likely to reveal human emotions such as hate or love and that there is no point to expect AI to develop into intentionally malevolent or benevolent. Rather, when taking into consideration how AI might become a threat, professionals’ think of two scenarios that most likely:
The Artificial Intelligence is designed to perform something devastating: independent weapons are AI systems that are designed to kill. In the custody of the wrong people, these weapons might simply result in mass casualties. However, an AI arms race might accidentally result in an AI war that as well leads to mass casualties. To circumvent being let down by the opponent, these weapons would be programmed to be very complicated to easily “turn off,” consequently humans could reasonably lose control of such a circumstances.
The AI is designed to do something advantageous, but it uses a destructive technique for attaining its objectives: This can occur each time we fail to completely align the AI’s objectives with ours, which is strikingly cumbersome. If you request an obedient intelligent car to take you to the airport as quick as probable, it may get you there pursued by helicopters and covered in vomit, doing literally what you asked for but not what you wanted. If a super-intelligent system is given a go-getting geo-engineering project, it may cause mayhem with our ecosystem as a side result, and seen human efforts to prevent it as a threat to be met.
The concern about advanced AI is competence but isn’t malevolence. A super-intelligent AI will be very good at attaining its objectives, and if those objectives are not similar to ours, we have an issue like that.
There is no doubt that machines are intelligent, they use less time to finish and learn a task and their working capability is far more than humans, and if AI assumes the human tasks, there will be confusions. However, if the machine goes against the commands or goes out of control of its maker or if it is operated by a novice, there could be a lot of loss to us. But the good information is, technology is growing at a fast speed and humans get uninterested with the old appliances and gadgets and we replace it, just like we substitute our old smartphones with the latest innovations. Consequently, with the advancement of technology, the demands of humans will increase and with HI we will produce AI and use it until the latest version comes up. The lack of judgment, commonsense, creativity, and intuitions makes AI different from HI and we can demonstrate our intelligence and thoughts by communicating, giving reasoning which at present AI cannot.
